How I raise Rockstars!

Here at Old Mills Aussiedoodles, I prepare your puppy for their new family using Puppy Culture methods. They have a jumpstart on life and come home ready to take on the world!

Puppy Culture, written by Jane Killion and other dog specialists, is a method of raising well rounded puppies. It is the new gold standard of raising litters. Puppies raised with puppy culture methods have proven to be excellent service/therapy/ESD and they make awesome family dogs that are eager to learn and easier to train. The protocol starts with the mother before the puppies are born. It starts by choosing excellent parents that possess top quality temperaments. Puppies learn the most in the first 12 weeks of their lives. The first 8 weeks of that are spent with their mothers. They learn and develop temperaments similar to the dogs that surround them in this period, which is why selective parenting is important. ENS, or Early Neurological Stimulation, is built into Puppy Culture. It provides puppies with many benefits including improved heart rate, more tolerance to stress, less susceptible to disease, etc. Puppy Culture allows puppies to get a head start on training. Many activities take place every day until the puppies are ready for their new homes. I play a variety of sounds including thunderstorms, vacuums, kids screaming, and gunshots to get the puppies used to different noises. My puppies go to their forever home with a solid foundation in crate training, potty training, clicker training, and leash walking.  It takes a dedicated breeder to follow this intense program but provides families with excellent puppies and the results are worth it.

Puppy classes are an excellent investment. It strengthens the bonds between you and your new puppy, while your new puppy learns all of the basic manners. Puppy classes can be expensive, each class costing around $100. I recommend using Baxter and Bella, an online positive reinforcement puppy school. It prepares new puppy owners in preparation of their new puppy, through the puppy stage, all the way to the service dog training level. Their training incorporates things that younger children can do to help involve them in the puppy’s life. The awesome thing about the classes being online is that you can view it and redo it as many times as you want. I have gone through an interview with the owners of Baxter and Bella, and they have enabled me to share a 25% off discount! My special code is: OLDMILLS. Baxter and Bella has a one time fee of $178.50 (including discount), and enables you access to all of their videos, online classes, and one on one calls/videochats. This is a much cheaper option than paying for in person classes which can total up to around $500. Baxter and Bella is highly recommended to my puppies as it is a continuation of the excellent puppy culture foundation they receive when they are with me.
